Parker & Sons Donates to the Special Olympics

PHOENIX, Nov. 4, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- The Special Olympics are dedicated to giving children and adults with disabilities the opportunity to compete in a variety of sporting events. On the final day of the Diamondbacks' season, Parker & Sons teamed with the organization to present the Special Olympics of Arizona with a check of $20,000. It is the hope of Parker & Sons that the Special Olympics of Arizona continue to thrive and continues to hold incredible and inspirational events such as the upcoming 2015 State Fall Games.

The State Fall Games, as held by the Special Olympics of Arizona is to take place on October 16-17 in Peoria, Arizona. The Special Olympics encourages visitors to come to the Opening Ceremony dressed as a pirate. The Fall Games will feature aquatics, softball, and bocce ball competitions.

Parker & Sons also attended the recently held Breakfast with Champions on October 3. Other attendees of the Breakfast with Champions included community leaders, law enforcement officials, and other local businesses such as Hastings & Hastings. The breakfast included speakers who talked about the impact the Special Olympics has had on their lives. They keynote speaker was Loretta Claiborne who is a longtime Special Olympian and the winner of the 1996 Arthur Ashe ESPY Courage Award.
