Park West Gallery Founder to Jointly Announce 2014 MI Great Artist Online Competition Winner

SOUTHFIELD, Mich., Dec. 5, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Park West Gallery founder and CEO Albert Scaglione will join Oakland County Executive L. Brooks Patterson in announcing the 2014 MI Great Artist online competition on December 11 at a reception at Park West Gallery in Southfield, Michigan.

Five artists – including three returning finalists from 2013 – will eagerly compete for the top spot in the 2014 MI Great Artist online competition and a share of more than $16,000 in cash and prizes.

"This competition is a great way to help recognize and celebrate artists in the area. Park West Gallery loves being able to host the group exhibition and helping to showcase all of these talented artists' work," says Scaglione.

The MI Great Artist reception begins at 6 p.m. at Park West Gallery in Southfield. The reception is free and open to the public to attend. The work of the five finalists will be on display at Park West Gallery from Dec. 1 – Jan. 4, 2015.

Patterson and Scaglione launched the contest in 2012 as a quality of life initiative to identify and support up-and-coming artists in the Economic Growth Alliance (EGA) region. MI Great Artist partners include Oakland County, Park West Gallery, the Economic Growth Alliance, AdvantageOakland.com and Oakland County Prosper® magazine.
