Park Water Co. receives high honor safety award presented by American Water Works Association

DOWNEY, Calif., Oct. 21, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Park Water Co. announced today that it received the American Water Works Association California/ Nevada Larry C. Larson Safety Award. Park Water received this award through its commitment to make public and employee health and safety a top priority.

Very few water utilities actually receive the Larry C. Larson Safety Award due to stringent criteria the California/ Nevada Section AWWA Section bases the nominees. Actual recipients of the award must meet a stringent list of safety criteria rooted deep within the water utility over time. Recipients are required to provide extensive safety information that includes OSHA or equivalent safety information, any injuries, and productive work hours for at least a half-decade; training; commitments to safety including written safety and health program manual, policy; accountability in job descriptions, performance evaluations; and hazard identification and controls; and more.

The California/ Nevada Section of AWWA established Larry C. Larson Safety Award in 1989 for water utilities with an outstanding and unequaled safety record. Park Water will receive the award at the 2014 California/ Nevada Section of AWWA Fall Conference.
