WHAT*: Extreme athlete and civilian George Chmiel embarked on an awareness and education expedition on 9/11/16 in San Diego, CA. As he has run across our nation, he has visited a VA hospital and visited with countless veterans along the way, documenting his journey and shining a light on the very real crisis of veteran suicide and PTSD. Chmiel will make his final state crossing into New York via the George Washington Bridge bike path, before embarking on a Unity Walk with citizens and partners to Ground Zero, and concluding with a public speaking event in Liberty Park.
