The Paradigm 2011.3 release provides a powerful upgrade to customers of the comprehensive SeisEarth® multi-survey regional-to-prospect interpretation solution by extending their structural and stratigraphic workflows with new voxel volume rendering. This GPU-based rendering enables "real-time" subsurface scene creations with dramatic acceleration of refresh speeds and negligible aliasing that can disrupt an interpretation. The release also incorporates multi-horizon flattening (GPU-based), horizon slicing, and proportional slicing with property extractions, so that geoscientists can better understand stratigraphic sequences and depositional histories. For development fields, SeisEarth customers will also be able to carry out quality control and validation of time-lapsed (4D) seismic data volumes with new analysis tools embedded in the system.
In support of Paradigm's continued focus on handling large data, a new, interactive disk roaming approach has been introduced where data is roamed at lower resolution and higher resolutions invoked when the desired scene setting is reached. This enables geoscientists to display and interpret massive quantities of 3D seismic data while using limited system resources.
Paradigm 2011.3 provides customers of the Paradigm SKUA® subsurface modeling solution with a powerful new Interpretation-Modeling workflow that incorporates automatic intra-formation seismic interpretation with true 3D modeling in geologic time and space. This enables seismic interpreters to generate detailed stratigraphic models honoring all available data in record times. Insights into improving the stratigraphic interpretation through visual "discovery" are created as interpreters work with data transformed to its original depositional state.
Paradigm's seismic processing and imaging suite is strengthened in this release with a new 5D regularization module in the Echos™ seismic processing application as well as quality and performance enhancements to the Echos Reverse Time Migration application. GeoDepth® customers will welcome substantive data quality and performance enhancements in all of the application's tomography solutions, as well as improved performance and user interface enhancements to its game-changing seismic imaging solutions (CRAM® and EarthStudy 360®) that operate in the local angle domain.
"Paradigm releases are the outcome of an ongoing process of collaboration with our customers to develop the best products, workflows and results in the industry," said Duane Dopkin, executive vice-president Technology. "We are confident that the enhancements and new technologies included in this update will give our users deeper insight into the subsurface and enable them to obtain more value from their data."
Paradigm applications will be featured at EAGE 2013 in London, booth #1230.
