Paperclips Base Supply Store Salutes MacDill AFB for 10 Years of Support at Special Customer Event February 8
Employees Are Proud to Provide Quality Service and Mission Support
MACDILL AIR FORCE BASE, Fla., Feb. 7, 2011 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Employees of the "Paperclips" Base Supply Center (BSC) store, 33 percent of whom are blind, will reach out to thank the community at MacDill Air Force Base for its support over the past decade with a Customer Appreciation and Grand Re-Opening Event on Tuesday, February 8, 2011 from 10-2 p.m. (Please note: The program kicks off with speakers beginning at 10 a.m.)
Special guests at the February 8 event will include Col. David Cohen, vice wing commander; Shirley Shouse, WSIFB board chair; and Steve Heinecke, NIB vice president of product and online marketing; in addition to 20 vendors.
"BSC stores are directly responsible for the employment of more than 300 Americans who are blind or have other severe disabilities," said Kevin A. Lynch, NIB president and CEO. "BSC sales provide jobs and career advancement for the more than 45,000 people employed through the AbilityOne Program."
The Paperclips store is operated by Winston-Salem Industries for the Blind Inc. (WSIFB), based in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. WSIFB is one of 90 nonprofit agencies associated with National Industries for the Blind (NIB), which provide products and services to federal government customers through the AbilityOne Program.

Since 2001, employees at the Paperclips BSC at MacDill Air Force Base have provided on-base critical support by equipping service men and women for deployment throughout the world.
Last year, NIB celebrated the 15th anniversary of the AbilityOne BSC program, which provides mission support at 140 U.S. military bases and federal agencies nationwide.
