NEW YORK, Dec. 4, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Panoply Media and the comedic-duo Jolenta Greenberg and Kristen Meinzer today announced the return of By The Book. The second season of the hit self-help podcast premiered on November 30. In this 16-episode season, co-hosts Meinzer and Greenberg live by the rules of a different self-help book each episode to figure out which ones might actually be life changing.
"We're excited to be back for a second season of sharing our trials, tribulations and triumphs of the most popular and trending self-help books out there," said Meinzer. "We continue to try and improve our lives through the advice they give while also calling out the outrageous promises they suggest we make - whether it be living only on leek water to lose weight or writing ourselves million-dollar checks to manifest money."
In addition to her role as By The Book co-host, Meinzer produces hit Panoply shows like Happier with Gretchen Rubin and serves as Panoply's director of nonfiction programming. Prior to Panoply, she co-hosted PRI/WNYC's Movie Date podcast. Greenberg is a comedian and contributor to BBC, WNYC, and Risk! She's also a Moth story slam winner.
The first season of By The Book explored "The Secret," "The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up," and other popular self-help titles like Luann De Lesseps' "Class with the Countess." In this new season, listeners will hear Meinzer and Greenberg live by the rules of Hygge, practice large and small acts of giving, use the love languages in their marriage, and more.
Season two of By The Book premiered on November 30, with new episodes released every Thursday for 16 weeks.

Below is a summary of the first two episodes.
S2 E1: Bored and Brilliant
Season two of By the Book kicks off with the new book "Bored and Brilliant," by Manoush Zomorodi. Join the ladies as they try to disconnect from their phones to see if they can get so bored they stumble upon a brilliant idea or two. They do unthinkable tasks like not using their phones while riding the subway, deleting their favorite apps, and even watching a pot of water boil. Will they come up with great new ideas? Or will they be bored to tears?
S2 E2: The Little Book of Hygge
This week the ladies live by "The Little Book of Hygge" to learn the Danish art of being cozy. Can you capture the essence of being warm in bed while it's snowing outside and feel that way all the time? They are hoping to do just that. So light copious amounts of candles, put on a chunky sweater, and cuddle up in a hand-knit blanket because things are about to get ultra-hygge.
