Panasonic To Host Interactive Discussion on Connected Healthcare During Upcoming Innovation HealthJam, A Free Virtual Event
Eclectic mix of opinion makers to lead collaborative brainstorm on disrupting today's healthcare system through patient engagement
NEWARK, N.J., June 5, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Panasonic Corporation of North America today announced details for the Innovation HealthJam forum focused on 'Patient Engagement and Healthcare Design for Consumers.' Innovation HealthJam is a unique, virtual brainstorming event built around eight thought-provoking healthcare topics and is taking place June 17-19, 2014. Registration is free and anyone can participate by signing up through the event website at www.innovationhealthjam.com.
John Nosta, founder of NostaLab and a contributing writer to Forbes and Bloomberg, will host a series of in-depth conversations throughout the three-day event as part of the Panasonic-sponsored forum.
"Our healthcare system is defined by disconnections, yet in order to establish a continuous path of care and wellness, we need to build viable, authentic connections through patient engagement and proper communication," said Nosta. "We've assembled an eclectic group of voices with varied perspectives and opinions that are uniquely designed to make you think...and act!"
The Panasonic-sponsored forum on patient engagement features a lineup of recognized industry thought leaders from varying backgrounds and experiences, discussing how to best motivate consumers to change their behaviors towards healthier lifestyles, the role of social media to influence decisions and the impact gamification strategies have in engaging consumers. The forum will also discuss the range of consumer-centric design ideas for technology used in healthcare, from user interfaces and websites to medical devices and mobile applications.
Guest Speakers for the Patient Engagement forum include:
- John Nosta, Host and Moderator – Founder of NOSTALAB
- Jane Sarasohn-Kahn – Health economist and Founder, THINK-Health strategic health consultancy, founder and writer for the Health Populi blog and HealthcareDIY
- Amy Cueva – Founder, chief experience officer and healthcare principal, Mad*Pow

"To me, what really makes this forum exciting is the opportunity for others to participate and engage. People are driven by passion, intellect, and by fear – and the virtual nature of this event means that people can participate from anywhere, so there aren't any limits to what we can do," Nosta observed. "Patients are the conduit through which all care flows and establishing continuity through human connections is the only way to manage and sustain health and wellness in a positive way."
Throughout the three-day event, speakers from each forum will be online, chatting with participants and responding to questions during the hours of 9am through 9pm EDT. There are three live chats scheduled during the Patient Engagement and Healthcare Design for Consumers forum:
