Panasonic Introduces New Wireless And Portable Qi-enabled Charger Series

NEWARK, N.J., Aug. 20, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Panasonic, a global leader in rechargeable battery technology, announced today the launch of a new series of Qi-enabled Wireless and Portable Charger products compatible with iPhone, Android and Windows cellular phones. The Qi-enabled chargers are available now at www.panasonic.com.

Qi (pronounced "chee") is a global standard created by the Wireless Power Consortium (WPC) to wirelessly charge devices like smartphones and other devices including cameras. Placing a Qi-compatible device on a "Qi Wireless Charger" surface enables charging of the device without cords. Panasonic charger series will feature three Qi-enabled models – the Panasonic Qi Wireless Charger QE-TS101AA-W (SRP $59.99) and Panasonic Qi Portable Chargers QE-PL202AA-W (SRP $79.99) and QE-PL102AA-W (SRP $59.99).

Any phone or other device carrying the Qi logo will work with any charging surface that carries the Qi logo, regardless of manufacturer or brand. The WPC includes more than 200 members. Panasonic is a founding member of WPC and has shipped an industry-leading 10 million units globally to date.

In addition to wireless and portability functions, Panasonic's Qi-enabled chargers feature a slim designed which allows users to easily easy grip the charger together with their iPhone, Android or Windows Phone.
