NEWARK, N.J., May 6, 2019 /PRNewswire/ -- Panasonic Corporation of North America has donated 2,500 baby monitors to expectant women and families in honor of the Mother's Day holiday. All the facilities receiving the donations are federally qualified health centers that serve a diverse population of families in need. Including its Newark, NJ headquarters, Panasonic has an established presence in each of the communities identified and made the donations to make a positive impact by giving back to its local communities.
"We know there are great expenses that come with a new baby, and underserved families often struggle to afford the bare necessities. Our corporate culture is anchored in contributing to society and we want this contribution to give those families one less item to worry about," said Alejandra Ceja, Executive Director Panasonic Foundation and Office of Corporate Social Responsibility.
Many of the health centers provided the baby monitors upon successful completion of pre-natal care education classes. "We are completely humbled and honored to receive such a generous gift from Panasonic. As our fellow servants in the Newark community, this is a true testament of an institution giving back to its local community," said, Gary S. Horan, President and CEO of Trinitas Regional Medical Center.
The Panasonic Long-Range Baby Monitor is the first video baby monitor equipped with DECT (Digital Enhanced Cordless Technology) technology, which provides an independent closed network for up to 1500 feet of secure, interference-free connection. The advanced monitor system detects infant movement with pan, tilt, and zoom functions, and can be used right out of the box, with no assembly and minimal set up required.
