DENVER, Oct. 28, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Panasonic Enterprise Solutions Company, a leader in implementing advanced technology solutions serving sports, entertainment and retail industries, in partnership with the NBA's Sacramento Kings, unveiled the league's first-ever 4K Ultra HD LED centerhung video boards at Golden 1 Center, the new, world-class indoor sports and entertainment venue in downtown Sacramento, on Thursday night at the Kings season home opener.
Utilizing the latest in LED technology, Panasonic installed over 13,000 square feet of LED video, totaling over 33 million individual LED pixels across Golden 1 Center – ensuring that fans have crystal clear views from anywhere in the arena along with immediate replays in 4K ultra HD – four times 1080 HD resolution.
"We set out to revolutionize the fan experience and, together with partners like Panasonic, Golden 1 Center is delivering on our promise, said Kings Chief Technology Officer Ryan Montoya. "Our partnership with Panasonic helps bring Golden 1 Center to life by utilizing cutting edge sensory technologies and dynamic video solutions to bring the fan experience to the next level both through entertainment and engagement."
The centerhung video board alone is over 6,000 square feet—over seven times larger than the King's old video board, KingsVision, at their former home at Sleep Train Arena. The eight-screen centerhung display features two sideline displays that are over five times larger than the screens currently in use.
Towering 24 feet and spanning over 84 feet, the total length of the video board extends nearly baseline to baseline—longer than the average length of an 18-wheeler semi-truck. The ribbon featured atop the video board is 6 feet 3 inches and wraps 252 feet around the centerhung structure, with the baseline displays on either end of the structure covering 27 feet 8 inches wide by 24 feet 6 inches high.
"We are honored to be the display solutions and technology partner to the Sacramento Kings for their new arena at Golden 1 Center," said Don Szczepaniak, Executive Vice President, Sensory Solutions, Panasonic Enterprise Solutions Company. "The Kings new arena is a shining example of how sports industry leaders and technology providers are collaborating to deliver the best and most immersive sensory experience to the fans. And we are proud to be a leader in this space."
Panasonic products are integrated throughout the downtown Sacramento arena to enrich the fan experience with the latest interactive display technologies.
- Two custom LED video boards, standing over 25 feet tall, will welcome fans in the plaza as they enter through the arena's main doors, featuring fan-generated content, event information and more.
- Over 700 Panasonic professional series monitors are showcased throughout Golden 1 Center concourses, clubs and suites so fans don't miss a second of the action on the court.
- Over 1,500 feet of LED ribbon boards will be featured in the arena bowl providing fans with real- time information, including advanced statistics and aggregated social media content.
