The company is partnering with retailer Rooms To Go to launch its new furniture offerings. The first collection—Old Havana—makes its debut this month in Rooms To Go showrooms throughout the southeast United States and in Puerto Rico. The second collection—Eco Jack—also rolls out this summer.
"We are very excited about launching Panama Jack's new Home Collection with industry leader Rooms To Go," said Kim Manna, president of Panama Jack. "For years, we have been helping people live the Panama Jack lifestyle. Now they can enjoy Panama Jack's trademark style of fun, adventure and escape in their homes."
"The Panama Jack brand is timeless in many ways," Manna said, "but I think it resonates particularly strongly with what's important to people today—living life more simply; enjoying family and friends; getting greater value for our money without sacrificing quality; and, where and when we can, being socially responsible."
"Value, quality, ease and comfort—that was our mantra in designing and crafting our new collections," said Stephen Giles, designer of the Panama Jack Home Collection. "Both Old Havana and Eco Jack share the brand's style but each has its own very distinct personality."
Old Havana — Now in Rooms To Go showrooms, Old Havana draws its inspiration from the architecture of old Havana and English antiques that craftsmen recreated in the Caribbean. These island-made antiques used local materials such as cane to make them look and feel more tropical, which Panama Jack has used in creating Old Havana. The collection has distinctive pieces such as the romantic four-poster bed with reeded posts, a canopy from which to drape authentic mosquito netting, and a padded tweed headboard. The rectangular dining table and marble-top sideboard have large classically-inspired, turned-post legs. The finish used on Old Havana pieces—the hand-rubbed patina and distressed effects—imbues the entire collection with a natural feel and true beauty.
Old Havana: Beds retail at $899; a dining table and four chairs retail at $1,099
Eco Jack—Arriving in Rooms To Go showrooms for Summer 2011, Eco Jack has a youthful, vibrant spirit in both design and attitude. Pieces in the line are made from acacia, a renewable plantation wood native to warmer climates. Their slat and raised-panel construction gives the line a modern yet primitive feel. Eco Jack's bedroom collection features the arched platform bed and sliding-door chest with a pull-out rod from which to hang clothes. The curio cabinet has storage room for stemware, wine bottles and a refrigerated wine cooler. The steamer trunk bar with its fold-out bar top and slatted shelves is a highly versatile piece that can multi-task as a bar, dining area or work space.
Eco Jack beds retail at $599; a table and four chairs retail at $799.
Both collections are being offered at Rooms To Go at affordable prices. "The quality and price point are perfect for today's younger and younger-minded consumer," Giles said.
