Pamela Sedmak Named Chief Financial Officer for Blue Cross

EAGAN, Minn., March 18 /PRNewswire/ -- Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Minnesota (Blue Cross) today announced Pamela Sedmak as senior vice president and chief financial officer. In her role she will be responsible for all facets of financial operations at Blue Cross, including business development, budgeting, forecasting, reporting and analysis.

Sedmak has more than 25 years of financial leadership experience. Most recently she has been serving as the chief financial officer for CareSource in Dayton, Ohio. Her experience also includes serving in a variety of leadership positions at General Electric, in the finance, marketing and product management areas, as well as operating her own consulting practice.

"Pam is extremely knowledgeable about health care issues and has demonstrated leadership in a variety of positions. She is a strong addition to our leadership team," said Pat Geraghty, Blue Cross president and chief executive officer. "Pam's track record of building effective teams and developing businesses will be important assets to Blue Cross."

Sedmak received her degree in finance from the University of New Mexico, and her M.B.A. in Executive Management from Case Western Reserve University in Ohio. She has been honored as a Hall of Fame inductee by the Anderson School of Management at the University of New Mexico; and has been very involved in professional and community associations, including being a founding member of the Greater Cleveland Executive Women's Leadership Forum.
