HOUSTON, Dec. 26, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Pamela E. Erlandson is recognized by Continental Who's Who among Pinnacle Professionals in the field of Legal Consulting. Pamela is the Owner, Surgical Assistant, Surgical Technologist III and Surgical and Medical Legal Consultant with Erlandson Surgical and Medical Legal Consulting Services.
Beginning her career as a unit secretary in an intensive care unit in the 1970s, Pamela describes herself as being intrigued by the healthcare industry from an early age. In 1976, she was approached by her office's Chief of Anesthesia who offered her a position as a surgical technologist.
Pamela has spent the past three decades acquiring a multitude of knowledge and experience in the field of surgical assisting and medicine. Throughout the course of her career, she worked through several positions in the surgical field, working her way through the ranks before retirement in 2007. Her areas of expertise include consulting, general surgery needs, surgical technology, neurosurgery, trauma; pediatric and adult neurosurgery, pediatric craniofacial surgery, high risk cardiac surgery, and transplant surgeries.
Pamela was employed primarily by Level I and Level II trauma centers throughout many states. She also was a team member of Emergency Rooms who awaited multiple traumatic injury patients who needed immediate attention before being transferred to the operating room. Pamela notes that much of her acquired experience came from trauma centers including Baptist Medical Center in Little Rock, AR, Arkansas Children's Hospital and Burn Unit, Oregon Health Sciences University, University of California San Francisco, Oakland Children's Hospital in Oakland, CA, MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, TX and Memorial Hermann-Texas Medical Center in Houston, TX. Pamela assisted many surgeons in these trauma centers and therefore gained significant insight into the many variables required from each individual surgeon's approach and preference according to the patient's injury for a successful surgical intervention.
In 2012, Pamela decided to change gears and apply her extensive knowledge to enter the surgical and medical legal consulting industry. Pamela offers her expert opinion to work with attorneys in medical cases. She reviews surgical and medical documentation, and offers advice and assistance to attorneys to be used in order to conduct to a successful outcome for both patients and legal aid alike.
Pamela's public contacts have brought a tremendous amount of interest and new clientele for her consulting work. In this capacity, she privately reviews medical documentation for the patient, locates the medical errors and pairs the client with the appropriate attorneys for the specific injuries. Pamela assesses the patients and recognizes the level of injury, then further evaluates the potential for a legal remedy in order to properly compensate them for their injury and troubles.
Moreover, Pamela is a member of the National Association of Professional Women, where she was recognized as an NAPW VIP Woman of The Year. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with family, traveling, gardening, photography and attending concerts. Additionally, Pamela is charitable towards organizations including St. Jude Children's Hospital, International Health Ministries, Star of Hope, and Paralyzed Veterans.
