Palomino to Donate a Portion of Sales of its Popular Chop Chop Salad to Minneapolis' House of Charity
MINNEAPOLIS, Nov. 9, 2010 /PRNewswire/ -- Palomino announced its second promotion as it counts down to its "Last Call" event on December 11. All this week, when a guest orders their ever-popular Chop Chop Salad, Palomino will contribute a portion of the proceeds to Minneapolis' House of Charity.
"This offer is a key piece of our commitment to Minneapolis as we say, 'Ciao' to our current downtown location," Manager Kim Oppegard said. "While we're not happy to be closing our doors after nearly 20 years, we are happy we could make something positive out of it and contribute to this great program. So, this week, when our guests order a full-size Chop Chop Salad, we'll contribute $5 to House of Charity. When they order a half-size, we'll contribute $2. It's our way of thanking Minneapolis for its support over the years."
House of Charity's Food Center is the only public meal program in Minneapolis that is open every day of the year and serves an average of 350 people each day.
The restaurant has launched a special website, PalominoLastCall.com to let guests know about weekly specials. The site also features a comment area where guests can share their favorite Palomino memories.
"It's been great to hear from our guests through email and on social media sites," Scott Smith, CEO said. "We really appreciate the well-wishes and our guests continued support through these last few weeks. It means a lot to everyone at Palomino."
In addition to the contributions to House of Charity with purchases of the Chop Chop Salad, this week's featured $5 cocktail is a Sapphire Collins.
Guests are also encouraged to sign up for Palomino's email program or follow them on Facebook for the latest information about Palomino.
