MANDEVILLE, La., Feb. 8, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Painting with a Twist®, the nation's leading paint-and-sip franchise, is introducing a new and unique way for guests to create customized screen artwork that is weather resistant and eco-friendly. The company has launched Rebeca Flott Arts Screen Art, which is now available exclusively at participating Painting with a Twist studios.
Rebeca Flott Arts Screen Art uses framed window screens to display painted artwork. Led by a local artist, guests use artist mud to fill in sections of the screen and then paint. The artist mud creates texture on the painting and the screen material provides a versatile and unique way to display art. The class is priced at $45 and guests can choose from more than 40 original Rebeca Flott paintings available in the Painting with a Twist library.
Born in Brazil, Rebeca Flott began painting at the age of 13 and although her family couldn't afford proper materials or canvases, Flott painted whatever she could get her hands on. She continued to paint throughout her life and discovered the beauty of painting on old screens while creating a gift for a loved one. After posting her homemade gift on Facebook, she received an influx requests for the product. Painting with a Twist took notice and has now inked a licensing agreement with Flott to bring the screen art painting to their more than 350 studios.
"We're beyond excited to provide our guests with an entirely new way to express themselves through art," said Painting with a Twist Co-Founder Cathy Deano. "We are constantly striving to enhance our guest experience and Rebeca Flott Art Screen Art Exclusively at Painting with a Twist does just that. Everyone who attends a class will be able to create their own unique masterpiece they can display inside or out."
Flott originally joined the Painting with a Twist family as an artist in Colorado Springs where she taught for five years. This spring, she will open her own Painting with a Twist studio in Aurora, Colorado.
"Growing up in South America with few resources, I was forced to look at art in a different way," said Flott. "I challenged myself to create alternative forms of art and through trial and error and eventually perfected the skill of painting on screens. I am beyond blessed to be able to share this form of expression with Painting with a Twist guests across the country."
