"Scuba diving is an activity that individuals can enjoy for a lifetime, and offers a truly unique and memorable vacation experience for families," said Kristin Valette, vice president of marketing and communications for PADI Americas. "The 'Kids Sea Camp' contest will offer families the opportunity to discover how diving can affect the life of a child in many interesting and unexpected ways. It has been known to strengthen reasoning skills, self-reliance, character and self-confidence."
Interested parents may submit nominations now through November 20 by sharing a photo that creatively depicts their recent PADI Open Water Diver class, certification card, PADI eCard™ or any other applicable photo showing their recent certifications on PADI's website, www.PADI.com/FamilyDiveContest. The most creative photo submission will win an eight-day, seven-night world class vacation for one adult and one child to Kids Sea Camp in Palau from June 28 – July 6, 2013. Winners will receive food, lodging, on-site diving and other activities, such as special PADI courses, snorkeling and learning programs, courtesy of PADI and Kids Sea Camp, and will be announced on November 28, 2012. The cost of airfare is not included in the contest prize package and will be the responsibility of the winning family.
The winning duo will have an opportunity to dive in the breathtaking waters of Palau. This island is the perfect destination for families because it caters to all levels of divers, as well as non-divers, and boasts ship wrecks and sunken airplanes in as little as eight feet of water. Visitors can experience the history and culture of this destination, which is the home to more than 1,300 species of fish and over 700 types of coral.
Obtaining a PADI certification is an achievement that can be enjoyed year-round and appreciated forever, as the certification never expires and PADI is recognized worldwide. To learn more and begin the certification process, please visit www.PADI.com.
