Packed House Sees Rude Increase Bandit Points Lead

TIMMONSVILLE, S.C., May 24, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- The Minimizer Bandit Big Rig Series continues to pack speedways across the country, and Saturday's event at Florence Motor Speedway was no exception.

Ricky Rude (#14) increased his lead in the series standings with a thrilling win over Justin Ball (#17) in the feature race, as thousands of screaming fans witnessed one of the most exciting races in Bandit history.

"I'm wore out," Rude said.  "That was one of the most exciting races of my life."

Lap traffic played a huge role in the finish, with Ball having the lead going into the last lap.  Both drivers then ran into Chris Kikelhan (#01) on the back straightaway, and Rude was able to go low and around him, while Ball was stuck behind Kikelhan on the high side.

"That's just the way it works out," Rude said.

"That was one of the best races I've ever seen," Bandit Director of Operations Brian Madsen said.  "Personally, I wish we could've refueled the trucks and put them back out there for another feature, because that was amazing."

Fans gobbled up Bandit swag, with the merchandise tent staying busy throughout the night.

"We just ordered several thousand shirts and it looks like we're already going to have to place another order," Bandit team owner and driver Craig Kruckeberg said.

Minimizer is the series sponsor this season.

The Bandits return to the track for their fifth race of the season on Saturday, June 10^th, when they invade Greenville-Pickens Speedway for the second time.
