For runners there is a weekly virtual 5K race, for walkers there is a 10k-a-day step challenge, and for those looking to push their limits there is a monthly distance challenge which lets users see how many total miles they can rack up in a single month.

Co-founder Mike Caldwell explains, "With virtual events, we wanted to give all of our users something fun and motivating to help kick-start 2017, but it also had to be completely consistent with the spirit of the Pacer community. And that means we designed our events to be not just competitive but also supportive, suitable for all levels, and global."

Pacer's online community organizers will be organizing virtual events and challenges all through 2017 to help users stay motivated in reaching their health goals for the year.
