PA Revenue Department Releases December Collections
HARRISBURG, Pa., Jan. 4, 2016 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Pennsylvania collected $2.7 billion in General Fund revenue in December, bringing fiscal-year-to-date collections to $13.4 billion, Secretary of Revenue Eileen McNulty reported today.
Sales tax receipts totaled $824.3 million for December, bringing the category's year-to-date total to $4.9 billion.
Personal income tax (PIT) revenue for the month was $1.1 billion, bringing the year-to-date total to $5.5 billion.
Corporation tax revenue was $528.6 million for the month, bringing the year-to-date total to $1.4 billion.
Inheritance tax revenue was $83.5 million for the month, bringing the year-to-date total to $449.7 million.
Realty transfer tax revenue was $33.1 million for the month, bringing the year-to-date total to $248.4 million.
Other General Fund tax revenue – including cigarette, malt beverage, liquor, and table games taxes – totaled $159.2 million in December, bringing the year-to-date total to $751.9 million.
Non-tax revenue totaled $29.2 million for the month, bringing the year-to-date total to $144.1 million.
In addition to the General Fund collections, the Motor License Fund received $178 million for the month. Fiscal year-to-date collections for the fund – which includes the commonly known gas and diesel taxes, as well as other license, fine and fee revenues – total $1.3 billion.
The fiscal year began on July 1, 2015. December collection data does not include a comparison against anticipated amounts because monthly revenue estimates are not yet finalized.
