PA Lottery Prize Worth More Than $400,000 to Expire April 1
Unclaimed, Jackpot-Winning Cash 5 Ticket was Sold in Blair County
MIDDLETOWN, Pa., March 17, 2011 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Time is running out for the holder of a jackpot-winning Cash 5 ticket worth more than $400,000 from the April 1, 2010, drawing to claim the prize.
The ticket and prize will expire one year from the date of the drawing.
"The Pennsylvania Lottery is still waiting for someone to come forward and turn in this winning ticket," said Drew Svitko, Lottery interim executive director. "This is no April Fools' Day joke: unless it is claimed, this ticket will expire April 1."
The soon-to-expire Cash 5 ticket correctly matched all five numbers drawn, 02-05-23-31-42, to win $415,873, less 25-percent federal withholding. It was sold at Nic's Grab N Go, 100 High St., Williamsburg, Blair County.
The Pennsylvania Lottery encourages the ticket-holder to sign the back of the ticket, call the Lottery at 717-702-8146 and file a claim by April 1 at Lottery headquarters in Middletown, Dauphin County, or at any of Lottery's seven area offices. Claims may be filed at headquarters Monday through Friday, from 8 a.m. until 4 p.m., and from 8:30 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. at area Lottery offices.
Unclaimed, expired lottery prizes remain in the Lottery Fund and are used to support programs benefiting older Pennsylvanians. Last fiscal year, the Pennsylvania Lottery contributed nearly $15 million to programs that benefited seniors in Blair County.
How to play Cash 5: To play Cash 5, players pay $1 and select five numbers from 1 to 43. Players also win prizes for matching two, three or four winning numbers. Cash 5 drawings are held seven nights a week, and tickets can be purchased up to seven draws (one week) in advance. Odds of winning the jackpot prize are 1-in-962,598; the overall odds of winning any prize are about 1-in-10.5.
