PA Lottery Prize Worth $125,000 to Expire Nov. 8

Unclaimed Winning Cash 5 Ticket was Sold in Montgomery County

MIDDLETOWN, Pa., Oct. 25 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Time is running out for the holder of a Pennsylvania Lottery Cash 5 jackpot-winning ticket worth $125,000 from the Nov. 8, 2009, drawing to claim the prize.

The ticket and prize will expire one year from the date of the drawing.

"Someone could have a Cash 5 ticket that's worth $125,000 stuck in an old coat pocket or under a couch cushion," said Lottery Executive Director Ed Trees. "However, if the player doesn't turn in the ticket within the next two weeks, those dollars will return to the Lottery Fund."

The soon-to-expire Cash 5 ticket correctly matched all five numbers drawn, 13-16-24-29-35, for a prize of $125,000, less 25-percent federal withholding. It was sold at Valley Forge Beverage Center, 175 N. Henderson Rd., King of Prussia, Montgomery County.

The Pennsylvania Lottery encourages the ticket-holder to sign the back of the ticket, call the Lottery at 717-702-8146 and file a claim by Nov. 8 at Lottery headquarters in Middletown, Dauphin County, or at any of Lottery's seven area offices. Claims may be filed at headquarters Monday through Friday, from 8 a.m. until 4 p.m., and from 8:30 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. at area Lottery offices.

Unclaimed, expired lottery prizes remain in the Lottery Fund and are used to support programs benefiting older Pennsylvanians.

How to play Cash 5: To play Cash 5, players pay $1 and select five of 43 numbers. Players may select their own numbers using a Cash 5 play slip, or they may opt for a computer-selected quick pick. Players must match all five numbers drawn to win the jackpot. The starting jackpot is $125,000 and grows until it is won. The odds of winning a Cash 5 jackpot are 1-in-962,598; overall odds of winning a Cash 5 prize are 1-in-10.51. Cash 5 is the longest-running jackpot game in Pennsylvania Lottery history. Cash 5 tickets first went on sale April 23, 1992.
