PA Lottery PICK 5 Ticket Worth $50,000 Nears Expiration
MIDDLETOWN, Pa., Aug. 31, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Time is running out for a Pennsylvania Lottery PICK 5 winner to claim a $50,000 prize from the September 18, 2017, day drawing.
Sold at 7-Eleven, 304 Union St., Hatfield, Montgomery County, the ticket matched all five balls drawn, 1-1-1-5-4, to win $50,000, less withholding.
"Public reminders do help to connect winners with their prizes," said Lottery Executive Director Drew Svitko. "This type of outreach recently helped a player who had lost track of winning tickets totaling $300,000 to claim them before the deadline."
In Pennsylvania, draw game prizes expire one year from the drawing date. The ticket holder should sign the ticket and contact the nearest Lottery office. Winners can be identified only after prizes are claimed and tickets validated.
The vast majority of lottery prizes are claimed on time. By law, expired lottery prizes remain in the Lottery Fund to pay for programs benefiting older Pennsylvanians.
Players should promptly check every ticket, every time, using self-service scanners at retailers or the ticket checker on the Lottery's official mobile app.
