PA Lottery Launches Cash 5 Cash Vault Second-Chance Drawing
First Online Second-Chance Drawing for a Terminal-Based Game
MIDDLETOWN, Pa., Sept. 3, 2014 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The Pennsylvania Lottery has launched the Cash 5 Cash Vault Second-Chance Drawing, offering players who enter online a chance to win one of three $125,000 prizes.
Players may enter online using a new Second Chance Prize Zone™ Official Entry Code that will appear on all Cash 5 tickets purchased between Sept. 2 and Oct. 2, 2014. The entry code will award the player a number of entries equal to the ticket's purchase price.
"Second-chance drawings are already very popular with our instant game players," said Lottery Executive Director Sil Lutkewitte. "Offering second-chance opportunities for terminal-based 'draw' games is a great way to thank our loyal players, and we hope to develop similar promotions in the future."
All Cash 5 tickets displaying an entry code – whether or not they are winning tickets – qualify for submission to the drawing.
Tickets must be entered in the drawing prior to being presented for prize validation.
To enter, players must create a free VIP Players Club account at palottery.com and follow the instructions. Entry codes must be submitted between Sept. 2 and Oct. 2, 2014. Mailed entries are not accepted. Find official rules and drawing information online at www.palottery.com.
First introduced in 1992, Cash 5 is the Pennsylvania Lottery's longest-running jackpot game. It offers a starting jackpot of $125,000. The game's record jackpot of $1.9 million was shared by two tickets sold in Lackawanna and Wayne counties in February of 2013.
How to play Cash 5: To play Cash 5, players pay $1 and select five numbers from 1 to 43. Players may select their own numbers using a Cash 5 playslip, or they may opt for computer-selected quick picks. Players must match all five numbers drawn to win the jackpot. Players also win prizes for matching two, three or four winning numbers. Cash 5 drawings are held seven nights a week, and tickets can be purchased up to seven draws (one week) in advance. Odds of winning the jackpot prize are 1-in-962,598; the overall odds of winning any prize are about 1-in-10.5.
