PA Lottery Instant Games Featuring Phillies®, Pirates® on Sale Today
Games Offer Second-Chance Drawing Opportunities
MIDDLETOWN, Pa., March 22, 2011 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Just in time for baseball season's Opening Day, the Pennsylvania Lottery introduces two new, $5 instant games, Phillies™ and Pirates™, which are on sale today.
"The Lottery is proud to partner with Pennsylvania's professional baseball franchises once again," said Drew Svitko, Lottery interim executive director, noting that the PA Lottery previously introduced an instant game featuring these two teams in 2008. "We know these instant games will be a hit with Lottery players and baseball fans, and they have the potential to generate nearly $10 million in profits for programs benefiting older Pennsylvanians."
The Phillies and Pirates instant games, which will be available for purchase at Lottery retailers across Pennsylvania – including Citizens Bank Park™ and PNC Park™ – each offer six prizes from $50,000 to $100,000, more than $10 million in total cash prizes and hundreds of second-chance drawing prizes. Players have 12 chances to win on each ticket, and the overall odds of winning an instant prize are 1-in-4.53.
In addition, players can enter their non-winning tickets from each game for chances to win Phillies® or Pirates® Dream Prize packages, including season tickets, a spring training trip, an away-game excursion or an invitation to fantasy camp. In addition to these packages, each valued at $10,000, second-chance prizes will include official team merchandise such as replica game jerseys, warm-up jackets and duffel bags.
Five separate second-chance drawings for each game will be held throughout baseball season. The entry deadline for the first set of drawings is April 28. Players can mail three non-winning Phillies or Pirates tickets or submit their entries online through the Pennsylvania Lottery's VIP Players Club at www.palottery.com. Players who enter online will each receive an extra chance to win in a Phillies or Pirates bonus promotional drawing for cash prizes.
Second-chance entry requirements and deadlines are featured on the back of every Phillies and Pirates instant ticket. Game details, including a list of all available prizes, are online at www.palottery.com.
