PA Historical & Museum Commission to Conclude PA Governors Series with Presentation on Gov. Robert P. Casey
HARRISBURG, Pa., Aug. 19 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- U.S. Sen. Bob Casey will be the final speaker in the Pennsylvania Historical and Museum Commission's series on former governors.
Sen. Casey will discuss the political career and gubernatorial history of his father, the late Gov. Robert P. Casey, at 12:05 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 3, at The State Museum of Pennsylvania, 300 North St., next to the Capitol in Harrisburg.
Sen. Casey will highlight his father's advocacy on social issues that earned him national recognition. His presentation will also feature comments on Gov. Casey's book, "Fighting for Life." Casey, who served as governor from 1987 to 1995, underwent a rare heart and liver transplant in 1993. He died in 2000.
Previous speakers in the series included former governors George Leader, Dick Thornburgh and Mark Schweiker.
