PA Governor Corbett Issues Flag Order to Honor Fallen Marines
HARRISBURG, Pa., Aug. 8, 2011 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Governor Tom Corbett today issued a flag order to honor U.S. Marine Staff Sgt. Patrick R. Dolphin, 29, and Sgt. Christopher M. Wrinkle, 29, who died July 31 while serving in Afghanistan.
Under the governor's order, all U.S. and Pennsylvania flags in the Capitol Complex and at commonwealth facilities in Lackawanna and York counties will fly at half-staff on Wednesday, Aug. 10.
Staff Sgt. Dolphin was from Moscow, Lackawanna County. Sgt. Wrinkle was from Dallastown, York County. The men, who were assigned to the Marine Corps Forces Special Operations Command, died in a non-combat incident. A Marine from Ohio also died in that incident.
Governor Corbett previously ordered flags lowered on Aug. 10 at the Capitol Complex and in Bucks County in honor of U.S. Army Sgt. First Class Kenneth Elwell, of Northampton Township.
Elwell, 33, was one of two soldiers killed July 17 by a roadside bomb in Afghanistan. Elwell will be buried Aug. 10 at Arlington National Cemetery.
