PA Cyber Charter School opens Allentown office
ALLENTOWN, Pa., Oct. 11, 2012 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Pennsylvania Cyber Charter School has opened an Allentown office.
Families in the Lehigh Valley and northeastern Pennsylvania interested in learning about cyber charter school are invited to attend the office's grand opening on Thursday, Oct. 18, from 6 to 8 p.m.
The office location is 974 Marcon Blvd., Suite 200, Allentown, PA 18109.
In addition to staff, several current PA Cyber families will be on hand to answer questions from the perspective of their experiences.
"Although PA Cyber is an online school, through our regional offices we provide many in-person administrative services and educational enrichment opportunities to our students and families. We are pleased now to extend these services to Allentown and northeastern Pennsylvania," said Dr. Michael J. Conti, PA Cyber CEO.
The Allentown office may be reached through the PA Cyber toll-free phone number, 1-888-722-9237 (1-888-PACYBER), extension 1422. Office hours are 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday. Staff includes Bill Haas, office coordinator, and Karen Haas, admissions counselor.
Families can have their questions about cyber education answered during the open house, but separate appointment times would be set up for anyone wishing to enroll. PA Cyber requires a face-to-face meeting with students and parents for enrollment. PA Cyber does not enroll students by phone or over the Internet.
PA Cyber is still accepting enrollment of new students for the current school year.
In addition to enrollment counseling, the Allentown office will offer Clicks and Bricks, an on-site academic support program, beginning later this month. Students in grades 5-12 will be able to come to the office from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Mondays and Wednesdays for this program.
Clicks and Bricks is a PA Cyber program providing supplemental academic support in a safe, supportive learning environment staffed by a state-certified teacher. Students can benefit from the additional structure, guidance, goal-setting, remediation, tutoring and test preparation of Clicks and Bricks.
Arts enrichment classes through the PA Cyber ArtReach program will be offered later on a regular schedule at the Allentown office. Field trips and family social outings, special education parent conferences and student orientation sessions are additional services and activities. A guidance counselor will staff the office one day per week.
PA Cyber has regional satellite offices in East Liberty (Pittsburgh), Northside (Pittsburgh), Greensburg and State College. It has larger offices, called Educational Support Centers, located in Wexford, Harrisburg and Philadelphia. PA Cyber is headquartered in Midland, Pa., west of Pittsburgh.
The Pennsylvania Cyber Charter School is Pennsylvania's largest and most successful cyber charter school, with an enrollment of 11,000 students from every corner of the commonwealth. Recognized as a national innovator and leader in online education, PA Cyber holds full K-12 accreditation from the Middle States Association for Schools and Colleges.
