PA CareerLink® Lackawanna County to Host Ribbon Cutting for New Business Services Center
HARRISBURG, Pa., June 27, 2012 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Pennsylvania CareerLink® Lackawanna County Business Services Team, in conjunction with The Scranton Plan, will host a ribbon cutting at 8 a.m. on Thursday, June 28 for a new Business Services Center in Scranton.
The event will take place at the CareerLink office, 135 Franklin Ave., Scranton.
"The Business Services Center will provide a facility at CareerLink that will promote employer outreach," said Michelle Staton, Labor & Industry deputy secretary for workforce development. "Employers will have a channel to connect with job seekers through job fairs and special events, and job seekers will have better accessibility to those employers."
A presentation on the unemployment compensation benefits system will be lead by Lynn Kasulis, workforce development representative.
The new center will be available for businesses, employers and other organizations to hold meetings, training sessions, interviews and job fairs. Use of the center includes Wi-Fi, free parking, copy machines, scanners, phones and CareerLink staff assistance.
The Scranton Plan is a branch of the Greater Scranton Chamber of Commerce. Their mission is to create and retain jobs for Lackawanna County and is the driving force behind job creation and retention for the Scranton area. The Scranton Plan partners with relocating and expanding businesses, serving as their community development partner throughout their entire site selection process.
