PA Breast Cancer Coalition Honored With the Tempo Award by Adagio Health

PITTSBURGH, Aug. 12 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Pat Halpin-Murphy, President & Founder of the PA Breast Cancer Coalition (PBCC), received the Tempo Award on Tuesday evening for outstanding advocacy and awareness work in the breast cancer field.  Adagio Health presents the Tempo Award to individuals and organizations who improve the health and well-being of women and families in the Pittsburgh region.

PBCC programs including the PA Breast Cancer Coalition Annual Conference, Income Tax Refunds for Breast & Cervical Cancer Research, and 67 Women, 67 Counties: Facing Breast Cancer in Pennsylvania traveling photo exhibit made the organization eligible for this distinguished award.  The PBCC also worked closely with the state legislature to pass the Pennsylvania Breast & Cervical Cancer Early Screening Act which provides FREE breast and cervical cancer screening services for women 40 to 49 years of age.  These programs and initiatives put the PBCC on the forefront of breast cancer research, advocacy, and prevention in Pennsylvania.
