PA Board Of Game Commissioners To Hold Open Working Group Meeting
HARRISBURG, Pa., Feb. 19, 2013 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Pennsylvania Board of Game Commissioners President Robert W. Schlemmer today announced the Board will hold public working group meetings on Monday, April 1. The meetings, which will begin at 8:30 a.m., will be held in the auditorium of the Game Commission's Harrisburg headquarters, 2001 Elmerton Avenue, just off the Progress Avenue exit of Interstate 81.
The working group meetings will be webcast through the agency's website (www.pgc.state.pa.us) beginning at 8:30 a.m. This particular working group meeting is being held in advance of the Board's regularly scheduled quarterly meeting on Sunday, April 14, and Monday, April 15.
Among the items that will be discussed at the working group meeting are seasons and bag limits for the 2013-14 seasons that begin with the new license year on July 1. The preliminarily approved 2013-14 seasons and bag limits will be considered for final adoption at the Board's meeting on April 15. The Board also will discuss further a proposal, preliminarily approved at the Jan. 29 meeting, to subdivide Wildlife Management Unit 2G into two management units. The new unit would be identified as WMU 2H.
"The Board's working groups present an opportunity for the Board of Game Commissioners and agency staff to exchange ideas and information, and for Game Commissioners to ask questions about various proposals that may come before the Board at quarterly meetings," Schlemmer said.
"I encourage the public to use the time between the working group meeting on April 1 and the official Board meeting April 15 to express concerns to the Board," Schlemmer said. "Public comments are scheduled at the Board's quarterly meetings. The Board also receives public comments through e-mail and letters."
