Oz Prom Queen Adds Some Down Under Glamor to Girls' Big Night
LOS ANGELES, Jan. 20, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- This year's prom could have a little Down Under glamor added to it if Australian Prom Queen, Dana Mathers, has her way.
Right now, the Aussie is one of America's hottest selling prom labels in only her second season in the US and she already has more than 120 stores across the nation stocking her brand.
She will be in Texas between January 25-27 showing the style that has vaulted her to the top of many girls' dress dream lists.

Mathers will bring with her a number of new gowns to highlight alongside the Dana Mathers' range these retailers have already lined up for their prom rushes.
Her runaway success dress is the "Cassie," a hi-lo cut whose reinterpretation the US fashion media credited to Mathers. Stars including Christina Aguilera, Victoria Beckham, Jessica Alba and January Jones were quick to adopt hi lo styles of their own after Mather's Cassie dress debuted.
The Cassie is a one shouldered, showgirl-inspired hi lo, studded with big bling crystals. It is cut high at the front but cascades to the floor in luxurious ruffles at the back.
Mathers has staked a reputation for her fresh and original red carpet styles that have breathed new life into a genre that has rarely challenged established boundaries.
"My prime motivation as a designer is to ensure that every girl who wears one of my gowns has the night of her life. To that extent I'm as much in the business of creating memories as I am of designing fabulous gowns," she said.
Mathers hails from Perth in Western Australia, one of the most isolated cities in the world. Over the past 15 years she has created a reputation at home as the destination prom designer.
"Our girls are influenced by the same films, television shows, magazines and red carpet fashion as the US girls. In the new world of the internet and Facebook, boundaries have dissolved and distance has been rendered meaningless," Mathers said.
And while Mathers is bringing her touch of Oz to America, she is also offering one lucky girl the opportunity of a lifetime – a trip for two to Sydney.
"I'm looking for my Princess of the Proms. Girls who buy and wear one of my gowns to their prom and upload pics and/or video to the competition site will be in the running for a fabulous prize – a return trip for two to Sydney, a week's five star accommodation, $1000 spending money, a $1000 Dana Mathers wardrobe and a photo shoot to become the face of next year's promotion, "she said.
"My Facebook, Twitter, Blog and website have been running hot since we announced the competition. Girls are super excited and can't wait to enter. I'm really looking forward to visiting Texas, spreading the news and meeting the fans of my designs."
