oXya to provide Managed Cloud Services for Nexans' SAP Environment and Additional IT Applications
oXya to provide Nexans with its "Cloud Delivered" private cloud solution, based on oXya's customer-dedicated, on-shore support teams and advanced Hitachi infrastructure
JERSEY CITY, N.J., Sept. 7, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- oXya, a Hitachi Group Company, today announced that it will provide a global technical solution to Nexans (EPA: NEX), a global leader in cables and cabling solutions for their entire IT operations. The solution will be based on oXya's "Cloud Delivered" service, in which oXya provides its customers with a managed private cloud—both managed services and infrastructure—for customers' SAP environment and additional applications.
oXya will consolidate Nexans IT operations, which include 6 large datacenters worldwide and many additional local computer rooms, onto several oXya datacenters in North America, Europe and APAC. This consolidation, which includes over a thousand Nexans servers running business applications, will enable Nexans to simplify and reduce costs for ongoing management, services, and updating of their infrastructure and applications. oXya's dedicated service teams will provide managed cloud services and SLAs, that will enable Nexans to meet their current and future business needs.
"oXya will provide Nexans a global private cloud solution for our technical IT needs," says Francois Lavernos, Chief Information Officer of Nexans group. "We've been working with oXya for many years, and have complete trust in their ability to take the technical side of our IT to the next level. The services that oXya will provide Nexans, both to our SAP environment and to many additional IT applications, will be based on the most advanced Infrastructure technologies from Hitachi, oXya's parent company."
"This project represents a huge transformation for Nexans IT operations," adds Lavernos. "Our goal is to provide a global solution for Nexans' infrastructure, improve the service levels to the business, further integrate digital trends, and address our ever increasing security challenges. oXya's service teams around the world, assigned to Nexans, will handle day-to-day technical operations of our IT environment. oXya's services and Hitachi's technology will help us provide more agility and flexibility to our business, as well as the additional security."
"oXya is proud to have been chosen by Nexans to provide a comprehensive technical and application cloud IT solution for their global IT needs," says Franck Didi, Hitachi Vice President, Cloud Application Services, and Managing Director of oXya, a Hitachi Group Company. "oXya has been providing services to Nexans' SAP environment for many years, and Nexans have always been happy with our services. Still, before acquired in early 2015 by Hitachi, oXya was considered too small to take upon ourselves such a large global project. Following the acquisition and with the backing of Hitachi Group's global organization, oXya can now take upon ourselves huge global customers and projects, and provide them with the same great service—including customer-dedicated support teams, on-shore or near-shore support, and highest level of technical expertise—that oXya customers have been enjoying for the past 18 years."
