Overhaul of LoudounWater.org Redefines Water Utilities Websites
WASHINGTON, March 14, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Loudoun Water offers visitors a better online user experience with the recent launch of the new loudounwater.org on February 17th. The new website—designed, built and hosted by DC-based Taoti Creative (www.taoti.com)—reinforces Loudon Water's status as one of the most progressive and innovative water utilities in the country.

"Our community has grown and evolved so much in the last few years, we felt a new site was needed to showcase who Loudoun Water is today and to respond to the changing needs of our customers," said Loudoun Water General Manager Dale Hammes. "While most people come to our site to pay a bill, we hope they stick around and explore all it has to offer. This new website is designed to meet the requirements of our increasingly web-savvy and sophisticated customers."
A Fluid Digital Presence
Taoti built the website on the open-source CMS Drupal 7. Its 'responsive design' (a site's ability to auto-optimize for any device) improves users' mobile experience while the new 'sticky' navigation bar simplifies the ways users pay bills, fill out forms, and find information serving personal and business needs.
"If you look around, most municipal water websites have failed to keep up with the times," Taoti CEO Brent Lightner said. "But Loudoun Water had the foresight to buck that trend and really put their customers' experience first. Their new site takes a customer-centric approach, allowing customers to self-identify and get right to the information (or services) they seek. The folks at Loudoun Water get a lot of credit. The site uses innovative technology and UX trends that not every municipal service would be prepared to trot out on such a critical site. Their willingness to lead and set trends in the realm of municipal websites allowed our own team to pull out all the stops."
After a string of water-related website projects for USAID, this is the first major water utility website for Taoti Creative, with a second in process: Taoti recently won the bid to rebuild www.dcwater.com as well.
