Over 70 Democratic and Republican Members of No Labels' Congressional Problem Solvers Coalition to Present Bipartisan Legislative Package Aimed at Making Government Work
WASHINGTON, July 17, 2013 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Thursday morning at 11 a.m., more than 70 Democratic and Republican members of Congress will announce a legislative reform package of nine bills that would move government toward efficiency and efficacy.
The Make Government Work! package includes legislation that would withhold congressional pay if Congress doesn't agree on a budget; consolidate GAO-identified duplicative, fragmented and overlapping programs; and cut federal agency travel budget by 50 percent.
This is the first legislative package introduced by the No Labels Problem Solvers coalition. No Labels debuted the inaugural group of 24 congressional Problem Solvers in January. Since then, the coalition has more than tripled in size to 81 members.
