SBA Extends Deadline to Return Applications
ATLANTA, Oct. 25, 2011 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The U. S. Small Business Administration has approved over $55 million in Disaster Assistance Loans for residents and business owners in New Jersey affected by Hurricane Irene. The deadline to return applications for physical damage has been extended to Nov. 30, 2011.

"Currently, 1,319 home and business disaster loans have been approved in the amount of $55,307,600 for affected survivors," said Frank Skaggs, director of SBA's Field Operations Center East in Atlanta. "We are pleased to be able to get these loans approved so residents and businesses in the disaster area can continue to rebuild and resume their normal lives." With the extended deadline, SBA encourages anyone who has not completed their disaster loan application to do so and return it as quickly as possible.
In addition to the Disaster Recovery Centers located throughout the impacted area, business owners can visit any of the Business Recovery Centers indicated below for one-on-one assistance:

Those affected by the disaster may also apply for disaster loans electronically from SBA's website at https://disasterloan.sba.gov/ela/.
The deadline to return SBA applications for physical property damage is November 30, 2011. The deadline to return applications for economic injury is May 31, 2012.
