Over 200 Business Leaders from 20 Targeted States Come to DC to Participate in Business Advocacy Day for Jobs, Climate and New Energy Leadership on Capitol Hill on February 2nd and 3rd
WASHINGTON, Feb. 2 /PRNewswire/ -- We Can Lead is hosting over 200 small and medium sized business leaders from 20 targeted states in Washington on February 2nd and 3rd to advocate for passage of comprehensive energy and climate legislation. These business leaders from Alaska to Arkansas, from South Carolina to Minnesota will attend over 70 Capitol Hill meetings to deliver the message that strong policies, clear market signals and a declining cap on carbon emissions are needed to drive the transition to a new energy economy. The business leaders with also meet with key leaders such as Energy Secretary Chu, Commerce Secretary Locke, Senators Reid, Graham, Murkowski, LeMieux, Bayh and Stabenow.
"Our companies are poised to create good clean energy jobs for America, right now," said Joe James, President of Agri-Tech Producers, LLC, of South Carolina. "But we need the U.S. Senate to act now, before we lose more ground to foreign companies. American businesses have a history of being leaders in innovation, but without immediate action we will fall further behind in the global, green technology race."
"America's business leaders are prepared to unleash a new industrial revolution in clean energy that will create permanent jobs right here at home," said Brian Micciche, President of Pennsylvania-based, Komax Solar, Inc. "American businesses are ready to lead. We need the U.S. Senate to act."
These small and medium sized company U.S. business leaders will be echoing the call from President Obama during the State of the Union last week to pass "a comprehensive energy and climate bill with incentives that will finally make clean energy the profitable kind of energy in America."
