WAKEFIELD, Mass., May 3, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- The Outercurve Foundation today announced that Jim Jagielski of Red Hat and the Apache Software Foundation was elected to a second term on its Board of Directors. Gianugo Rabellino of Microsoft Open Technologies will also serve, replacing original Microsoft board member Stephanie Davies Boesch.

The two board members bring deep expertise and experience, and will help Outercurve in its mission to enable the exchange of code and understanding among software companies and open source communities.
Jim Jagielski is a well known and acknowledged expert and visionary in open source and IT, an accomplished coder (in numerous languages) and frequent presenter/interviewee/consultant on Web and Cloud related topics. He is best known as one of the developers and co-founders of the Apache Software Foundation, where he serves as President. Jagielski works for Red Hat as Senior Consulting Software Engineer in the office of the CTO, and is also a director of the Open Source Initiative (OSI).
Gianugo Rabellino currently serves as Senior Director of Open Source Communities at Microsoft Open Technologies. He is also a Vice President of the Apache XML Project Management Committee and Founder and former Chief Executive Officer of Sourcesense. Rabellino has a deep understanding of open source technologies and platforms. He brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to the Board, where he will advocate for interoperability and openness between Microsoft and non-Microsoft platforms.
