CHICAGO, Aug. 14, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Outcome Health, a healthcare innovation company focused on evolving the point-of-care market, today announced a partnership with the American Liver Foundation (ALF), a non-profit organization that promotes liver health and disease prevention, to raise awareness of liver disease, specifically hepatitis C. The two organizations will launch a nationwide campaign to promote the recently updated hepatitis C screening recommendations to patients in physician offices.
"Hepatitis C is curable for more than 95 percent of people who undergo treatment, but 80 percent of people are unaware they are living with the disease," said Tom Nealon, President and CEO of the American Liver Foundation. "Therefore, it is critical that we reach patients with the most up-to-date information about this potentially deadly illness so they can understand their risk and get tested. This partnership with Outcome Health allows us to reach Americans at a critical point in their care when they're in their physicians' office assessing their options."
Outcome Health will deploy a series of creative assets (like digital posters) to educate and inform both patients and healthcare professionals across its nationwide digital platform. The educational information in this campaign includes the updated screening guidelines along with basic information about hepatitis and other liver diseases.
"Fifty-five million people across the world don't know that they are living with hepatitis C," said Matt McNally, Chief Executive Officer at Outcome Health. "By amplifying this message in partnership with the American Liver Foundation, we can encourage more patients to talk to their doctors about getting tested, and facilitate disease prevention."
Outcome Health will distribute this message to all Exam Room Wallboards across its nationwide network. These digital touch screens offer access to 3D anatomical renderings for use during the consultation. Physicians can zoom, rotate and annotate body systems and disease states to give patients a personalized visual of their health.
