SOMERVILLE, Mass., July 23, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Outback Steakhouse® is debuting its newest restaurant in Somerville, Massachusetts opening its doors at 11 a.m. on Monday, July 27. To show its support of the local community, a portion of the restaurant's opening day sales will benefit Best Buddies, which is dedicated to establishing a global network volunteer movement that creates opportunities for one-to-one friendships, integrated employment and leadership development for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities. The restaurant will be the newest addition to Assembly Row and the first in the area to feature a new "Modern Australia" design both inside and out.
"Outback Steakhouse is a great addition to the neighborhood – filling a niche that many families and visitors have been asking for," said Matt Ehrie, VP and General Manager of Assembly Row, Federal Realty Investment Trust. "With a focus on supporting our local community, Outback has worked closely with The City of Somerville and Somerville Community Corporation over the past four months to hire locally and be a long term partner for our neighborhood."
To mark the official grand opening, the Somerville Outback restaurant is inviting local area residents to attend a ribbon cutting ceremony with the Somerville Chamber of Commerce at 5:30 p.m. on Monday, July 27.
The new restaurant will feature a "Modern Australia" design with decor that mirrors the indigenous flora and fauna, adventure, geography and leisure of modern day Australia. Guests will also enjoy a spacious, energetic bar area that includes a community table – a great place to meet up with friends and enjoy specialty beer, wine and hand-crafted cocktails. The new bar will also feature customized seating and furnishings.
"We're thrilled to be the newest neighbor in Somerville and to set roots in this thriving community," said Matt Gill, Local Proprietor, Outback Steakhouse. "We've expanded our Outback family to include nearly 175 local residents at this new location."
In addition to Outback's signature bold steak dinner entrees, the restaurant recently introduced new core menu innovations, including the new Wood-Fire Grilled Flat Iron Steak and Premium Sides, such as Steakhouse Mac & Cheese, Loaded Mash and Parmesan Fries. Plus, for a limited time, guests can enjoy the new Victoria's Filet® Mignon Portabella and the Outback Special® Sirloin Portabella starting at just $13.99. The Somerville Outback also features a wide variety of fast and affordable lunch combos, starting at just $6.99, such as the Aussie Steak Tacos or the new ½ Ribeye Melt.
The newest Outback restaurant is located at 625 Grand Union Boulevard and is open from 11 a.m. – 12 a.m. Monday – Saturday and 11 a.m. - 10 p.m. on Sunday. Call-ahead seating is available by calling the restaurant at 617-628-0490, or get seated faster by adding your name to the wait list that same day through Click Thru Seating at Outback.com/Seating.
