OTN Systems and ISS Announce Strategic Partnership
Customers to Benefit from True Open Software Platform and Open Transport Network
LAS VEGAS, April 4, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- OTN Systems, the leading supplier of networking products for critical infrastructure, and Intelligent Security Systems (ISS), a leader in video management and image analytic software, announced at ISC West today that they have pursued a strategic partnership designed to meet the needs of customers for reliable, easy to manage networks and true open software platforms.
OTN Systems is the designer and supplier of the Open Transport Network (OTN). OTN is a unique system that can integrate virtually all existing applications for voice, data, LAN, video, SCADA, etc. into one high speed network, using a fiber optic backbone. Via the unique OTN network segmentation concept, it is possible for the administrator to manage and see the network as a set of separated application layers. This also makes it possible to create, provision and control each segmented layer independently without extensive training and certifications.
ISS has its roots in space technology, which has led to the development of software with highly advanced algorithms. This in turn makes possible a level of intelligence, flexibility and accuracy for video management and analytics that previously was only available for government and military applications. In addition, another key advantage that ISS offers over other vendors is that the analytics are built in to the software, so that even if the customer does not require this feature at the time, it can easily be switched on when it is needed.
"We are very pleased to be working with OTN Systems," said Aluisio Figueiredo, Chief Operating Officer of ISS. "The synergies both companies share translate into a win-win for us and our customers. The ability of our software to seamlessly handle any given application and of OTN to supply end to end reliability and management across a secure network gives customers added peace of mind in an age when security concerns continue to grow."
"As video surveillance rapidly migrates across the world to an IP model, network and software compatibility issues get even more complicated," said Christopher Zenaty, US National Sales Manager of OTN Systems. "Ideally, one must be able to address both transport issues along with changing software needs. With this partnership, customers get all the benefits of custom fit virtualization as well as the ability to easily expand their solutions at will."
At ISC West, ISS will preview Version 6.0 of SecurOS, which extends the innovations of their open software platform and advanced analytics. ISS and OTN Systems will be at booth number 24109 at ISC West in Las Vegas from April 5th to April 7th.
