Otis to Supply People-Moving Products for McCormick Place

JUPITER, Fla., Dec. 1, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Otis Elevator has entered into a multimillion-dollar agreement with Prairie District³ Partners, a joint venture led by Clark Construction Group, to supply elevator and escalator units for Chicago's McCormick Place convention facility campus, one of the city's key destinations. Otis is a unit of United Technologies Corp. (NYSE: UTX).

As part of this expansion, Otis will provide 39 units for the new event center and headquarters hotel. This includes 13 Skyrise™ elevators, 14 Gen2^® elevators and 12 energy-efficient, environmentally responsible NCE escalators. The highly anticipated project features a 10,500-seat multipurpose arena and a 40-story flagship hotel, which will operate as a Marriott Marquis. The venture also includes renovating the historic American Book Company building and constructing pedestrian bridges, which will connect the hotel with the event center and other campus attractions.

Prairie District³ Partners is designing and building the McCormick Place project. On-site work has begun on the campus, and a substantial amount of the project is scheduled to be completed by the fall of 2017.
