"We are honored to once again have been chosen by the Kohinoor Group and to build upon Otis' long history in India," said Otis President Didier Michaud-Daniel. "Every installation of Otis' energy-saving technologies and products helps advance our company, and our customers, on The Way To Green."
Kohinoor Square is designed to be a state-of-the-art office complex and will offer a range of sophisticated technologies including Otis' Compass™ destination management and EMS Panorama™ systems. The Compass system offers tenants and visitors personalized elevator service while improving the flow of building traffic. Passengers enter their destination floors using keypads or interactive touch screens and are directed to the most efficient elevator route. Otis' EMS Panorama is a Web-based application that enables building staff to monitor, control, report on and manage a full range of operational-critical elevator functions from any computer with an Internet connection.
Otis will provide 16 escalators and 47 elevators, including six Gen2® elevators, to Kohinoor Square. The award-winning line of Gen2 elevators utilizes Otis' patented, polyurethane-coated steel belts. Flexible belts make the Gen2 machine 70 percent smaller and up to 50 percent more efficient than conventional geared machines. A more compact, energy-efficient machine also frees up valuable building space and reduces operating costs.
"Efficient, reliable elevators are vital in either a hospital or high-rise building," said Unmesh Joshi, chairman of the Kohinoor Group. "Our partnership with Otis will help ensure that Kohinoor facilities offer world-class accessibility and customer service while creating a new benchmark in socially responsible buildings."
"Otis is proud to partner with customers like the Kohinoor Group who share our deep commitment to environmental leadership," said Michaud-Daniel. "Otis' energy-efficient Gen2 elevators will help ensure that Kohinoor patients, residents and visitors have a safe and smooth ride experience while conserving India's energy resources."
Since its inception in 1961, the Kohinoor Group has earned a distinguished name for itself in fields as diverse as education, hospitality, real estate, power, and healthcare.
