Ossia Appoints VP of Engineering and Expands Engineering Team Amid Rapid Growth

Ossia, Inc. (www.ossiainc.com), the company behind the Cota® remote wire-free charging technology, today announced a pair of senior appointments to its leadership team. Dr. Ron Khormaei has been named vice president of engineering, and Dr. Siamak Ebadi has been named senior lead RF engineer.
Khormaei has more than 20 years of executive experience at large multinational corporations and smaller fast-growing organizations, leading the delivery of products to consumer and commercial markets. He is charged with growing and leading a team of talented engineers as the company looks to deliver Cota to the masses.
Before joining Ossia, Dr. Khormaei held various technical executive roles at Hewlett-Packard and Logitech. Additionally, Dr. Khormaei has led smaller companies through IPOs and successful large acquisitions. He was CEO and technical lead at Lensbaby, the only U.S. manufacturer of lenses for SLR cameras. He has also served as CEO of Circle Technology, a SW company focused on secure presentation systems. He had started his career leading the development of advanced displays at Planar Systems in Beaverton, Ore.
Khormaei earned a Ph.D. in electrical engineering from Oregon State University in 1995. He has published over 35 scientific papers and holds eight U.S. patents. Dr. Khormaei has served on multiple advisory boards and has taught graduate-level courses at Oregon State University, and University of California, Riverside. He is currently an adjunct professor at Portland State University, teaching courses and leading research in the areas of technology management and strategy development.
Ebadi brings over 12 years of experience with array antenna development to Ossia, both in academia and industry. He will be leading the RF group of Ossia's engineering team. His expertise covers various fields of antenna design and electromagnetics, including metamaterials, phased array, slot array and reflectarray antennas.
Prior to joining Ossia, Ebadi played a key role at Intellectual Ventures, working to develop novel Metamaterial Electronically Scanning Array technology. He holds a Master of Science and a Ph.D. in electrical engineering from Tarbiat Modares University in Tehran.
