DANVERS, Mass., June 25, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Lighting leader OSRAM SYLVANIA and key distributor partner NorthEast Electrical Distributors have teamed up with the Department of Energy Resources (DOER) Green Communities division and Mass Save partner utilities to offer schools and other state facilities a unique opportunity to save money and energy.
For a limited time only, OSRAM SYLVANIA and key distributor partner NorthEast Electrical Distributors are offering an opportunity to acquire the latest LED and reduced wattage T8 fluorescent lamps at no charge. The Commonwealth of Massachusetts and the DOER put this program in place to reduce overall energy consumption and dependency on fossil fuels. In addition to a reduction of greenhouses gases, schools and other facilities can benefit by significantly reducing their energy costs.
"We're thrilled to be part of the opportunity to improve energy efficiency in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and encourage the public to bring this offer to the attention of their local schools and officials," said CEO Jes Munk Hansen, President and CEO of OSRAM SYLVANIA. "This offer is a great way to help our schools and other state run facilities save money while educating about environmental responsibility at the same time."
"NorthEast Electrical Distributors is delighted to partner with OSRAM SYLVANIA and DOER in order to provide this unique energy saving opportunity," said Don Block, President, NorthEast Electrical Distributors. "Not only will the participants be able to save money by receiving these lamps free of charge and reducing their electricity bill, but they will demonstrate to the citizens of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts that energy conservation is an activity we should all participate in."
The program is available for a limited time only from June 1 through July 31 and products must be installed by August 29. Program is available to all those serviced by the following utilities: NStar, Cape Light Compact, National Grid, UNITIL and WMECO.
