Oscar-Nominated Actress Melanie Griffith Signs on for Suzanne DeLaurentiis Productions & Vision Entertainment's 'The Grief Tourist'
Actress Joins Michael Cudlitz on Mystery Thriller
LOS ANGELES, Oct. 4 /PRNewswire/ -- Vision Entertainment Group, which recently announced its partnership with Suzanne DeLaurentiis Productions to produce "The Grief Tourist," has added Golden Globe-winning actress and Oscar nominee Melanie Griffith to its already impressive cast. Directed by Suri Krishnamma ("A Man of No Importance" and "New Years Day"), "The Grief Tourist" is currently in production for a release next year.
"The Grief Tourist" centers on a disturbed and troubled man whose fascination with serial killers leads him and the audience on a horrific and menacing journey through his obsessive and twisted mind as he retraces their footsteps. Possibly best known for her Oscar-nominated role as Tess McGill in "Working Girl," Griffith is one of America's most-recognizable actresses, thanks in part to iconic turns in "Something Wild," "Body Double," "Born Yesterday," "Crazy in Alabama," and "Cecil B. Demented." She is currently in production on Nick Cassavette's drama "Yellow," also starring Sienna Miller and Ben Foster.
Written by Frank John Hughes, who starred in "Band of Brothers" and "Catch Me If You Can," the film stars Michael Cudlitz of "Southland," "A River Runs Through it," "The Negotiator", who also co-produces with Ivan Kavalsky ("10th & Wolf"). Producing the film are Vision Entertainment Group founders Zachery Bryan, who starred for eight seasons on ABC's "Home Improvement," and Adam Targum, writer and producer for such hit series as "CSI: NY," "Eleventh Hour," "Standoff," and the motion picture "The Good Student." They join Suzanne DeLaurentiis, the esteemed producer behind the hit films "10th & Wolf," "A Month of Sundays," "Out of the Black," "Shut Up and Kiss Me!," "I Believe in America," "Soul Fore Rising."
