Orion Advisor Services, LLC Achieves ISO 27001 Certification

OMAHA, Neb., Sept. 30, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Orion Advisor Services, LLC  ("Orion"), a premier portfolio accounting service provider, recently completed an independent audit in accordance with the global security certification standards outlined by the ISO/IEC 27001:2005 report ("ISO 27001"). An ISO 27001 certification is recognized as the highest security standard in the technology industry, verifying that an organization possesses the required internal controls to operate, monitor and maintain an information security management system ("ISMS") that meets international guidelines.

The benchmarks, established by the International Organization for Standardization ("ISO") and the International Electrotechnical Commission ("IEC"), require a company to meet expectations in four areas of security management — risk assessment and acceptance criteria, asset identification and valuation, management and acceptance of these fields, and the ongoing enhancement of an overall security program.

Orion is the second Nebraska-based company to receive the ISO 27001 certification, according to the International Register of ISMS Accredited Certificates. The firm's management will conduct reviews with its ISO auditor on an annual basis.

In addition to the ISO 27001 certification, Orion completed an independent audit earlier this year showing it was in line with the accepted accounting guidelines outlined in the Statement on Standards for Attestation Engagements (SSAE) No. 16, Reporting on Controls at a Service Organization.
