Original Productions Appoints Philip Segal As Chief Executive Officer & Executive Producer And Jeff Conroy As President & Executive Producer
BURBANK, Calif., Nov. 14, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Emmy® Award-winning Original Productions, (OP) has promoted two of its key experienced creative production executives: Philip Segal has been named CEO & Executive Producer with Jeff Conroy appointed President and Executive Producer. Segal replaces Thom Beers, recently appointed CEO of OP parent company FremantleMedia North America (FMNA) and Original Productions' Chairman. The prolific company produces powerhouse series including Deadliest Catch, Ice Road Truckers, Storage Wars, Ax Men, and Bering Sea Gold.

Philip D. Segal joined Original Productions in 2005 as President and EP. He had operating responsibility for Original Productions' thousands of hours of original programming. Segal guided integrating business, creative development and field production and post-production entities for all scripted and non-scripted programming. Prior to joining Original Productions, Segal spent three years as EVP of Bunim-Murray Productions and as SVP of Programming and Production for Tribune Entertainment. From 1990 to 1996, Segal was EVP of Amblin Television at Steven Spielberg's Amblin Entertainment.
Jeff Conroy joined the Original Productions team in 2001, was promoted to VP Programming in 2007, and EVP Programming in 2011. He is the Executive Producer of the multi-Emmy® Award-winning Deadliest Catch which has been honored as the 2011 Best Reality Program. Early in his tenure at Original Productions, Conroy played a leading role in developing Monster Garage, a five season staple on Discovery, serving as Supervising Producer.
