SAN DIEGO, Feb. 22, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Original Grain Watch Co., the global lifestyle brand notable for their wood x steel watches, today contributed $22K to Trees for the Future, an international agroforestry non-profit working to "plant trees and change lives." The contribution reinforces the company as a global leader.
Continuing its partnership with Trees for the Future for a second year, Original Grain's contribution will support a more direct initiative in Senegal, Africa. Trees for the Future's Forest Garden Program is "a simple, replicable, and scalable approach. By planting specific types of trees and crops in a systematic manner over a four-year period, families can change their lives forever," according to Trees for the Future. "Our teams will work together in making a difference among 4 underprivileged villages in West Senegal, which host 1600 families and 12000 people who will reap the full benefits of the program," explains Andrew Beltran co-founder of Original Grain.
In addition to the monetary contribution, Original Grain has been working with Trees for the Future by planting 10 trees for each watch sold. This initiative continues for 2017 as a part of an ongoing commitment towards and appreciation for the great outdoors, a cornerstone of the brand.
