CANTON, Mass., July 27, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Organogenesis Inc. today announced its 2017 sponsorship of the American Podiatric Medical Association (APMA), including support for three of the APMA's leading educational programs: The Residency Education Resource Center (REdRC), the Young Physicians' Institute (YPI) and the Young Physicians' Practice Management Expo & Coding Seminar. Organogenesis will also sponsor the APMA 2017 Annual Scientific Meeting (The National), taking place this week in Nashville, Tenn.
During the conference, the entire Organogenesis advanced wound care portfolio will be highlighted with speaker presentations, as well as product demonstrations and information at Organogenesis' booth (#707). Additionally, Dr. John J. Doolan, DPM, FACFAS, will present "BBWM™: A proactive approach to support healing," to discuss biofilm, its impact on wound care, and a biofilm-based wound management approach that includes sharp debridement and the use of PuraPly™ Antimicrobial to help control biofilm and support healing.
"As a sponsor of APMA for more than a decade, we proudly support the organization's goal to promote foot and ankle health through a wide array of educational programs and events," said Organogenesis President and CEO Gary S. Gillheeney, Sr.
The American Podiatric Medical Association is the premier national organization representing the vast majority of podiatrists in the United States. For more than 90 years, APMA has promoted the benefits of proper health care through appropriate preventive and educational strategies.
The REdRC allows APMA to offer an online educational lecture program free of charge to residents and residency directors through its educational portal. Organogenesis assisted APMA in the development of the REdRC nearly four years ago as a founding sponsor of the important tool.
The YPI, now in its seventh year, is a program designed for the future leaders of podiatric medicine. This year's program will focus on providing attendees with an overview of the state of podiatry, including varied practice settings as well as legislative and regulatory initiatives that affect the field.
The Young Physician's Practice Management Expo & Coding Seminar shares practice-related information and tools for podiatric, allopathic and osteopathic physicians, including meaningful use and incentives, office staffing, practice marketing, contract negotiation, and coding and reimbursement.
